Meet The Staff

Tom Orr
Owner/ Managing Cosmetologist

My name is Tom Orr and I am the owner of Modern Movements hair salon. I opened my shop in 1981 in my grandfather’s barber shop, which is located behind our current address. My journey began in 1979 when I graduated from the vocational school in Buffalo, Ohio. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some of the best educators in the industry including Connie Warren, Vidal Sassoon, and John Dellaria. I’ve taught at and managed a local school of cosmetology, traveled to New York and Las Vegas for hands on training with Paul Mitchell educators, and then went on to become a Paul Mitchell educator at hair shows and classes throughout Southeastern Ohio. In 2009 I became the Mayor of Cambridge and currently split my time between working for the city and cutting hair at least day a week. I am happily married with three grown children and two grandchildren. With the help of my senior staff and the enthusiasm of young professionals dreams really can come true when people love people. Step into my office!
